The Cambrian Archaeological Association is delighted to announce its call for papers for Darganfod – Discovery, the first of a series of biennial conferences where early career academic and independent researchers can present their new research on Wales and the Marches.

We invite postgraduate research students, early career researchers and independent scholars to submit a proposal for a 20-minute paper on any aspect of the archaeology of Wales and the Marches. Please email a title and 250-word abstract to Dr Rhiannon Comeau at, and include your contact details, career stage and institutional/organisational affiliation. The closing date is 18th December 2019. We are only able to accept a limited number of papers, and will let you know whether or not your paper can be included in early January 2020.

The conference will also highlight some of the work supported through the Cambrian Archaeological Association Research Fund, with presentations by Prof Mike Parker Pearson on Preseli and the Stonehenge bluestones; Dr Oliver Davis and Prof Niall Sharples on Caerau Hillfort; Dr Toby Driver on Abermagwr Romano-British villa; Dr Andy Seaman on the Dinas Powys landscape; and Dr Alan Lane on Llangorse crannog.
